Lila Kağıt was established in 2006 with 100% Turkish capital to meet the hygienic cleaning paper needs of Turkiye and the world. With its annual paper production capacity of 271 thousand tons and its production facility spread over a total area of 300,000 m2, it is one of the largest roll paper producers in Europe and the Middle East among fully integrated facilities producing on the same campus in the sector.

Reaching its consumers at more than 80,000 points with its Sofia, Maylo, UltraBerrak, Nua brands and hygienic cleaning paper products such as toilet paper, paper towels, tissue paper, handkerchiefs and napkins, Lila Kağıt exports semi-finished and finished products to more than 80 countries on 5 continents.

Abdullah Öğücü
Founder

He was born in 1933 in Gaziantep. While continuing his primary school education, he started working with his father at the age of 7. In 1964, he founded Güneydoğu Yarn Company. He then moved to Istanbul and continued his career as a manager in Marmara Pamuklu Mensucat, which he founded in Corlu in 1984.

The entrepreneurship of Abdullah Öğücü, strengthened by the knowledge of his sons who completed their education abroad, continued with the investments of Yarn Dyehouse in 2004, Power Plant in 2005 and Lila Tissue Factory in 2006. He passed away in 2007 while he was the Chairman of the Board of Lila Kağıt.

The second paper production line TM2 was established and the total paper production capacity was increased to 140,000 tons/year. As a result of this investment, the way was paved for a significant increase in export levels in the following years.

The “first social responsibility project” of the tissue paper industry was implemented with the Maylo brand. By collaborating with the Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation, it was aimed to support TEGV with every Maylo product sold and to provide children with quality education. Within the scope of the project, the TEGV logo was placed on all Maylo packages.

Orhan Öğücü
Chairman of the Board

He was born in Gaziantep in 1956. He completed his high school education in Gaziantep and his undergraduate education at the Mechanical Engineering Department of Manchester University.

Öğücü, who started his professional career at Güneydoğu İplik Sanayi, worked as a lecturer at METU Gaziantep campus between 1978 and 1980.

In 1984, he took part in the establishment of Marmara Pamuklu Mensucat and continued to work at the management level of the company until 2007. He has been serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors since 2007, with the establishment of Lila Kağıt.

While he has been on the boards of directors of TOBB Paper Products Assembly and Pulp and Paper Industry Foundation in different periods, he is actively involved in the Board of Trustees of the Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV) and the Board of Directors of the Voluntary Service Foundation (GHV).

Celal Öğücü
Vice Chairman of the Board

He was born in Gaziantep in 1958. He completed his high school education in Gaziantep and his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Manchester University. He returned to Turkey with a master’s degree in Polymer Chemistry.

He stepped into his professional business life in 1984 by taking part in the establishment of Marmara Pamuklu Mensucat. Öğücü, who took an active role in the establishment of the dyehouse business and power plant within the company and in the new investment processes in the paper field, has been serving as the Vice Chairman of the board since 2007.

While he has been at the management levels of many organizations such as Çorlu Businessmen and Industrialists Association (ÇİSAD), Çorlu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Turkish Family Business Association (Taider) and Rotary Club for many years, he is currently on the Board of Directors of the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TÜRKONFED). He continues his work as a member.

Aydın Öğücü

While he was the former Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Family Business Association (TAİDER), he currently continues his work as an Advisory Board Member and is also an active member of TÜSİAD.

Cengiz Solakoğlu
Board Member

Born in Erzurum in 1943, Cengiz Solakoğlu graduated from the Istanbul Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences in 1964 and started his career as a salesperson at Beko Ticaret in 1967.

After serving as the General Manager of Beko T.A.Ş, Atılım A.Ş, he was appointed as the Vice President of Koç Holding Consumption Group. In addition to his current position, he was a member of Koç Holding Executive Board between 1996-1998. Cengiz Solakoğlu, who is among the Founders of the Education Volunteers Foundation of Turkiye, has been on the Board of Directors of the Foundation since its foundation. Solakoğlu, who is still working as the Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors in many companies, is interested in the art of photography as an amateur.

Cengiz Solakoğlu, who founded CS Consultancy firm after his retirement, has served and continues to serve on the Board of Directors in leading companies of our country.

Yılmaz Bulut
Board Member

He completed his undergraduate education at Anadolu University, Department of Statistics. He started his career in 1991 at Arçelik A.Ş., a member of the Koç Group. He continued his professional life for 17 years in the Import, Production Planning, Logistics, Purchasing and Human Resources departments in Arçelik. Since 2008, he has been providing consultancy services in Management and Human Resources at his own company Artı Bir Consultancy.

He still carries out projects and provides consultancy services for the development of the Management Board Consultant and Human Resources processes in many companies. He voluntarily takes part in the Education Volunteers Foundation of Turkey.

Füsun Akkal Bozok
Independent Board Member

Füsun Akkal Bozok completed her academic education by receiving a bachelor’s degree from Istanbul University Faculty of Business Administration, a master’s degree from Boğaziçi University Faculty of Administrative Sciences, and a doctorate degree from Istanbul University Faculty of Business Administration. He started his career at Arthur Andersen auditing company.

He joined Koç Group in 1983 and first served as an Audit Specialist and Deputy Coordinator in the Audit and Financial Group department. He served as Audit and Financial Group Coordinator for 11 years, to which he was appointed in 1992. Akkal, who served as the Finance Group Director between 2003 and 2006, served as a Board Member at Yapı Kredi Bank from September 2004 until 2019. He is an independent board member of Ford-Otosan, TAT Gıda, Kocaer Çelik and Gözde Venture Capital. He taught Auditing and International Accounting at Koç University between 2006-2008 and at Sabancı University between 2008-2020. He is a member of TKYD, TİDE, Turkish Accounting Experts Association and Boğaziçi Alumni Association. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the 30% Club and mentor of the Women’s Association on the Board of Directors.

It has Capital Markets Board Advanced Level, Credit Rating, Corporate Governance Rating and Derivative Products licenses.

Mehmet Fatih Keresteci
Independent Board Member

Born in Diyarbakır in 1977, Keresteci completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Diyarbakır. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Economics (English) at Marmara University and his master’s degree in finance at the University of Birmingham. Keresteci, who focused on “financial crises in developing economies” throughout his education, had detailed studies on “early warning systems” in this context. These studies were published by reputable economics journals and served as a reference for official modeling.

Keresteci, who started his career as an economist, worked as a strategist, foreign exchange and derivatives processor, investment consultant and Treasury Sales Director at HSBC Bank, and most recently served as Deputy General Manager in the Global Markets team. DNG Consultancy, Research and Education Ltd., which he has owned since 2016. He provides consultancy services to large corporate companies in the fields of economy and finance, and serves as a member and advisor to the board of directors and executive committees. In this context, it has a well-known position in the sector in the fields of financial risk management, financial investment consultancy, company and financial restructuring, M&A activities, investment feasibility consultancy, management strategies consultancy and financial education. Keresteci also offers services within the scope of investment banking through Denon Partners, of which he is a founding partner.

He was born in 1983 in Gaziantep. After completing high school at Üsküdar American College, he graduated from Tufts University Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, he completed Entrepreneurship and Product Design minor programs.

He started his professional career in 2005 as a Project Engineer at Lila Kağıt. He has been serving as the General Manager since 2014.
